Help & How Our Tools Work
Everything you need to know about using OmniToolset safely and effectively.
Browser-Based Processing: What It Means for You
OmniToolset tools run entirely in your web browser. When you open a tool—for example, PDF Compress or Image Resize—the page loads the necessary code (JavaScript libraries) and waits for your input. As soon as you select a file or paste text, the work is done on your device. Your file is read into memory, processed, and the result is either shown on screen or offered as a download. At no point is your file sent to our servers.
This design has important benefits: your data stays private, processing is often fast because there’s no upload/download round-trip, and you can use the tools from any network without worrying about firewalls or upload limits. The trade-off is that very large files or complex operations may be limited by your device’s memory or battery. For typical documents and images, performance is excellent.
Supported Formats and File Sizes
Each tool on OmniToolset is built for specific formats. Our PDF tools accept PDF files; our image tools support JPG, PNG, GIF, WEBP, and in some cases HEIC. Developer tools work with plain text, JSON, XML, HTML, CSS, and similar formats. On every tool page we describe what formats are accepted and what the tool outputs. If you’re unsure, try a small test file first.
We don’t impose a single global file-size limit; limits depend on your browser and device memory. As a rule of thumb, files under 50–100 MB usually work well. For very large PDFs or videos, consider splitting or compressing them in steps. If a tool fails or freezes, try a smaller file or a different browser.
Privacy and Security
We do not collect, store, or transmit the files you process. We do not require an account, so we don’t tie your usage to a login. Our server only delivers the web pages and scripts; once a tool is loaded, all processing happens in your browser. For more detail on what we do collect (such as analytics and ad-related data), see our Privacy Policy.
We use widely used, well-maintained libraries (for example, for PDF or image handling) and keep our site updated. We recommend using a modern, up-to-date browser and avoiding use on shared or public computers if you’re handling sensitive documents.
Tips for Best Results
- Use a supported browser. Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge (recent versions) work best. Enable JavaScript; our tools require it.
- Check the tool description. Each page explains what the tool does, which formats it accepts, and any options (e.g. compression level, output format).
- Start small. When trying a new format or a large file, test with a smaller file first to confirm it works on your device.
- Allow the page to load fully. Some tools load extra libraries; wait until the interface is ready before uploading or pasting content.
- Use our blog and guides. We publish how-to articles and guides that walk through common tasks step by step. Visit our Blog for more help.
